Peter Falk Placed Under Conservatorship

After several months of legal proceedings a decision was made to place actor Peter Falk under a conservatorship on Monday.

 

The 81-year-old star suffers from advanced dementia and Falk's wife Shera will remain in control of his personal care and affairs, the Associated Press reports.

Dr. Stephen Read testified during the conservatorship trial on Monday that the actor slipped into dementia after a series of dental operations in 2007.

According to the AP, Falk's daughter Catherine petitioned in December to take over her father's affairs, but instead the court has granted her 30-minute visits every other month.

  • The court and their attorneys are dirty, Especially these players. Never conservatee's best interest in mind. It is the attorneys that profit and the judge goes along with it. 30 minutes EVERY OTHER month? Outrageous.

  • The same thing happened to a relative of mine. The best we can figure is that while under anesthesia, she may not have received adequate oxygen. My aunt was never the same after her surgery, either. It's very sad.

  • So sad for such a great actor. I am glad his wife of 30yrs got control over his life. His daughter's only concern seems to be financial. Peter might not even remember Columbo now but the world will remember for him.
