NBC announced today that the hourlong Jay Leno Show will hit airwaves Sept. 14.

Before signing off last week after hosting the Tonight Show for 17 years, Leno said: "Thank you for watching. Please give Conan [O'Brien] as much support as you've given me throughout the years. Good night. We'll see you in September."

O'Brien -- who hosted the Late Show for 16 years -- premiered on NBC last night to lackluster reviews.
New York Post TV critic Linda Stasi called his opening monologue sketches "at times, painfully unfunny."
