Eliza Dushku meets with ex-Uganda child soldiers

NEW YORK (AP) — TV actors are known for traveling in the break between seasons. But "Dollhouse" star Eliza Dushku (DOOSH'-koo) did more than just go on vacation.

The 28-year-old Dushku visited Uganda recently to meet with former child soldiers who are trying to reintegrate themselves back into society. The actress' mother, Judith, is an African political science professor who arranged the trip for her students with Global Exchange, an organization based in San Francisco.

Dushku says her experience in Uganda made her look at the world differently, and she suggests that others spend time learning about people in need.

"Dollhouse" will return for its second season on Fox in the fall.
