The Hollywood funnyman joined British survival expert Bear Grylls in northern Sweden for a special episode of Man vs. Wild.
Ferrell was first lowered into an icy canyon by rope from a helicopter before hiking with makeshift snowshoes through waist-high snow.
He then spent a night in a shelter with Grylls and ate the reindeer delicacies
In one scene Ferrell ignored Grylls and ate a cake that had been packed as an emergency ration as soon as the host turned his back.
The pair then flew out of the wilderness hanging 200 metres above the ground underneath a helicopter.
“I did not expect the peace you find in solitude,” Ferrell told Grylls as they sat together in the snow. Movies and working on films is very exciting and great but it is also a lot of focus and energy at all times.
“To come out here you work hard and focus, but at the same time you can sit in a spot like this and feel the snow fall on you.”
