Katie Holmes has stepped out with her brand new hair cut

The actress has swapped her long mane for a shorter crop, which is swept to the side in a look very similar to her pal Victoria Beckham. However, unlike Posh, who has bleached her hair ahead of the family's move to Los Angeles, Holmes hasn't altered her chocolate brown colour.

Holmes, who also followed Beckham's current penchant for animal print, arrived at the swanky restaurant Cuts in Beverly Hills for a romantic dinner with her husband Tom Cruise.

It's not the first time Holmes has shadowed Beckham's look - last year at Paris Fashion Week it was clear she'd taken notes from the former Spice Girls.

Then in February, Holmes' appointed Beckham the chief stylist for her photoshoot in Harpers Bazaar magazine.

Of her friendship with Holmes, Posh has said: "I really like Katie, she's sweet and we speak on the phone about fashion and the kids."

"We talk about what she's doing script-wise and she's helped me research the boys' schools."
