It looks as if Mary Kate Olsen will be joining Vanessa Hudgens and British actor Alex Pettyfer in the upcoming movie Beastly, according to Variety. The movie is a modern retelling of the classic “Beauty and the Beast” story. Olsen is set to play the beautiful witch who puts a curse on the handsome, but overconfident young man, transforming him into everything he hates. Pettyfer will play the arrogant young 17-year-old who is transformed into a beast.
Hudgens will play the beautiful young woman named Linda who falls for the Beast despite his frightening looks. The movie script is based on Alex Flinn’s fantasy novel Beastly, which is set in today’s New York.
Filming for the project is set to begin June 13 in Montreal, and Hudgens was recently spotted walking in Montreal, Quebec apparently meeting a Realtor to help her find an apartment for the duration of the shoot. She was said to be seen in the Old Montreal historic district. Pettyfer was also seen leaving the film studios.
News has it that Hudgens will be living in Montreal from June through September, for the entire filming of the movie.
