Michelle williams was honored as an “American Hero”. The Brokeback Mountain actress who is the former girlfriend of the late now legendary Heath Ledger spoke of her love for her and Heath’s three-year-old daughter Matilda at the event. She is currently involved with filmmaker Spike Jonze and is also involved in filming with co star Ryan Gosling in a new film called Blue Valentine.
Other people who were honored at the event were Susan and Donald Newhouse, and former Giants defensive Michael Strahan.
Mariah Carey also grabs the headline not because she was honored but for setting the style stakes at the event which is hitting the media headlines and she was there at the event with her husband Nick Cannon. (photo above). Mariah is starting to get a bit of a buzz around her lately after her appearance in the film “Precious” which recently appeared at the Cannes Film Festival 2009, a gritty drama where she plays a very plain and dowdy social worker, her role in this is something that has shocked and delighted the world at large.
Mariah Carey has recently been quoted as saying after turning 40 by the media “I’ll always be 30″ which raised a smile here. We’ve included two photos a sort of before and after, the photo above was taken at this event in 2009 and the photo below was taken two years earlier in 2007 at the exact same event. We think the top later photo if anything she has the edge, and just proves age is but a number, its what you’re doing and whats happening in your life that makes the difference.
