Ani DiFranco's Just a Hippie, I'm Just a Little Homophobic

Am I the only one who thought Ani DiFranco was a lesbian? By saying that am I opening myself up for a wave of homophobia accusations? I dunno. I just assumed, 'cause of the dreads (not pictured, but I swear they used to be there and huge) and the following of "womyn" and the "ain't got nothin' but my guitar and a flannel shirt." But, low and behold, Ani DiFranco just had a baby with her boyfriend, proving that my assumptions were stupid and baseless. This is the blurb from People:

Indie rocker Ani DiFranco and her boyfriend, music engineer and producer Mike Napolitano, welcomed their first child, a daughter, on Jan. 20, PEOPLE has confirmed.

Petah Lucia was born at the couple's Buffalo, N.Y., home and weighed in at 7 lbs., 8 oz.

"It was a long delivery, but mom and baby are both doing very well," says a rep for DiFranco's label, Righteous Babe Records.


Congrats, Ani! Here's to killing stereotypes.
