Bob Guiney rocks!

The first time I’d heard the name Bob Guiney he was a participant on The Bachelorette. Though he did not win the heart of Trista Rehn he did win the hearts of women all over the country. I was speaking recently to one of my Twitter buddies and she expressed how badly she wanted to hop on a plane and meet this tall Michigan boy and sweep him off his feet when he won the coveted spot on The Bachelor.

Bachelor Bob has come along way since then. He has been happily married to one of Daytime’s hottest women, Rebecca Budin since 2004 and his television & musical career has yet to slow down.

A few years ago,Heroes star Greg Grunberg brought some of his celebrity friends together to perform and raise money for some amazing charities, Bob joined as lead vocalist. From there, The Band from TV was born. Last month I attended their South Beach show at the Shore Club. I had the distinct pleasure of meeting Bob and I knew right then that I had to get to know more about him and share it with you guys.

I feel Bob Guiney represents everything that my site was built on, Accidental Sexiness.

Many of you wrote in questions and I hope everyone gets their questions answered.

It was great meeting you at The Band from TV Concert on South Beach. I had never heard you sing and I was very impressed. Everyone did an awesome job, I danced the entire time.

Bob:Thank you VERY much!! We had a great time in Miami - and were so appreciative of the warm welcome! I’m glad you had fun too!

I was seriously tempted to jump into the pool with you, Teri, and Grunny!

Bob: I LOVED that Teri dove into the pool. I had to follow her in - Teri Hatcher jumps into the pool fully clothed, you have no choice! :). I just love her personality and the fact that she was so carefree at that moment was awesome! Plus, who are we kidding? It was HOT out there!!

Thank you so much for doing this interview with me. I look forward to learning more about you and keeping all your fans informed about what you are doing. Not to mention introduce the Bob Guiney “flavor” to those who have yet to hear about you.You are a busy guy!
You play with The Band from TV, you have your own band- The Bob Guiney Band, you are working on a new show for Lifetime and you are promoting The 2nd Annual Rock the Soap Cruise.

Bob: thank you very much!

Do you prefer being in front of an audience performing or in front of a camera on tv?

Bob: not to cop out, but I love doing both! I grew up performing musically, so I guess that’s always been my comfort zone. But they tend to lead into one another a little! The TV stuff just started happening (after the Bachelorette & Bachelor). And I honestly love doing both quite a bit!

I’ve never heard The Bob Guiney Band perform. What type of sound do you have?

Bob: we’re a “pop rock” type outfit! We were always known as Fat Amy until the Bachelor stuff. That’s when the record label decided we needed to change our name. But ultimately its the same guys I’ve always performed and written with from Detroit. We have a great time together! And its different than BFTV in that, we write our own stuff - and w/BFTV we play a bunch of familiar cover songs. Both are a blast!! visit www.bobguiney.com or www.myspace.com/bobguiney for upcoming BGB shows this summer.

After having the chance to interact with you I would encourage all your fans to make it out to one of your events. They need to see those dimples LIVE! Where can we catch an upcoming performance?

Bob: Aww thanks! We do love playing live — hopefully we’ll have a chance to play a lot more of these public shows! I’m not sure when our next shows are. When we know, we’ll post them asap on BFTV.org or on our myspace site www.myspace.com/bandfromtv.

How did you get involved with The Band from TV?

Bob: Greg Grunberg! My boy Grunny!! We were at a charity event together in Dallas TX, and my band (BGB) was playing. Grunny approached me there and three weeks later we were opening for Macy Gray and Mick Fleetwood. It was awesome!!

I love that all the proceeds of your cds and events go to charity. Do you have any favorite charities that you donate your portion to?

Bob: yes I do!! I work with a couple charities including the Childrens Hospital LA, the Art of Elysium and Starr Commonwealth (which is out of Detroit area). I’ve been touched by these charities so much and love that I have an avenue to help them.

Though you were (what you call) a reject on The Bachelorette you won a bigger prize, the heart of a beautiful woman, your wife Rebecca Budig. Now that you are both on the same coast could the Guiney/Budig household be hearing the pitter patter of little feet sometime in the near future?
***The babies would be GORGEOUS!****

Bob: you’re very kind! Thank you!! As long as they would look like their mother - we would be VERY lucky!! Yes. I’m the luckiest “loser” in the world!
And when Trista kicked me to the curb, it ended up kick starting a whole new chapter for me. I definitely got lucky! And meeting Rebecca is the best thing that came out of the whole experience! No doubt!! She hosted a show that made fun of the Bachelor — and I loved making fun of myself - so we ended up really hitting it off!
As for kids, we talk about it sometimes, but we’re in no rush at this point!

You’ve become really involved in Soap Events. Will we ever see you guest star on a Soap?

Bob: you know, I’m more of a comedy guy. But if it were the right thing I wouldn’t rule it out. Ultimately, Rebecca is the thespian in our family!

Tell us about your upcoming Rock the Soap Cruise. After checking out the actors participating in this event, I’m wondering how I can get on this ship! Details please! As host what will your duties be?

Bob: I’m the ringleader for that weekend! Running around and having fun with the fans! I end up being the conduit between the stars and the fans! Its a lot of fun! And we have the stars performing with my band as well so its a blast!! Yes - please go to www.rockthesoap.com for ticket info!! Its a riot!

Will the BGB be performing at this event?

Bob: yes we will! We do some of our own stuff and the band also backs up a lot of the stars performing on the ship as well. Its so much fun!

I’m dying to hear about your upcoming project with Lifetime! What details can you share at this point?

Bob: we just shot the pilot and It was so much fun! All I can tell you is that its a real “feel good” show. Fun and light hearted - and also helping people get a good start on their lives together - perfect timing with things being so rough out there economically!

Will you be back for another season of Date My House?

Bob: I wish!! TLC had an administration change and sadly took their shows with them. I was sad. I loved DMH and we loved shooting it. Plus it actually worked!! We sold some houses doing it. So it was a bummer that it didn’t get renewed!
There’s still a slim chance I guess that they could bring it back, but its doubtful at this point.

Are there any other upcoming projects you have coming up that you’d like to tell us about?

Bob: well we’re hoping to do some more episodes of Cooking to get Lucky (www.cookingtogetlucky.com) - which is a cooking show we developed. I love it!! Eden Riegel (Bianca, AMC) and I do the internet show together and its so much fun!! So we’ll do some more of those sometime soon! The BGB has a gig planned out in Mi June 20th! Check out www.bobguiney.com for all future dates
