The Poison singer's rep Joann Mignano tells People magazine: "He told me, 'All I remember is Shrek and the Donkey helping me up, and Liza [Minnelli] giving me a towel.'" Michaels, 46, broke his nose and required three stitches to his lip after he was hit by a large sign being lowered from the ceiling as he exited the stage following a performance.
"And Bret was laughing when he heard [Tonys host] Neil Patrick Harris said he gave new meaning to 'headbanging,'" Mignano told the magazine. The rep also denied that the "Rock of Love" star had "missed his mark," saying he did everything he was asked to do in rehearsals.
The rep adds that Michaels, who is currently on a solo tour, has been to the doctor for tests and is recovering fine. "Bret is a tough son of a bitch, but he's really banged up."
