David Letterman and Julia Roberts on Marriage

Julia Roberts visited her pal David Letterman for Tuesday night's episode of "Late Show," and she got the funnyman to open up about his March nuptials with wife Regina.

"I don't know if I can look you in the eye anymore ... Last time I saw you, you were single and then I, like, hypnotized you in my white suit or something and you went off and married Regina," Julia said after she sat down for the interview.

When Julia asked if Regina took Dave's name, and he said yes, Julia followed up with, "So she's Mrs. Letterman?"

Dave responded, "No, she's Dave."

Julia, who's been married for nearly seven years to hubby Danny Moder, told Dave of his marriage, "You're bound for eternity," to which Dave responded, "That's right, and never been more deeply in love," which elicited cheers from the audience.

Julia commented that Regina is a "lovely and, no doubt, tolerant woman."

  • Dave, I've watched you for as long as you've been on, but you've recently started disgusting me. Not so recently, but until this point, I've brushed off as midwestern buffoonery. You've become beholden to the values of those who pay you, not those you grew up with. A male Katie Couric without the once nice butt. I can't bring myself to watch your collapse. I'll enjoy watching the rest of your colleagues go their way because they've always sucked up to the hind teat, but I thought you were better than that. Maybe you're pw'ed although it seems like you getting it up is quite an achievement these days.

  • I found Letterman's disparaging remarks about Sarah Palin and her daughter sad and disgusting. He is really a pathetic man. His past bears mentioning since he failed to make an honest woman of his live-in until she had his child out of wedlock. At least I hope it is his son. Maybe someone should check and see if the child has buck teeth!!!
