Brad Pitt Buys Painting for Nearly $1 Million
It reportedly did not take long for Brad Pitt to decide he had to have the contemporary piece for sale at an international art show in Switzerland.

The Wall Street Journal reports that after eyeing the 9-foot-wide racetrack oil painting by German artist Neo Rauch for several minutes, Pitt "rubbed his goatee, fiddled with his tweed driving cap, then walked away." He later returned to the booth of New York dealer David Zwirner at the Art Basel fair to offer $956,000.

The colorful 1998 painting depicts a swirling view of a driver behind a red, Formula One-style racecar, with workers nearby carrying candy-colored hoses.
