Trina Johnson Finn, the woman who had been jailed for three months in Suriname after impersonating Toni Braxton, has been freed !

Finn, speaking on Judge Robby Rodrigues’ ruling this week, says “It was hard dealing with the situation knowing I was innocent. But now I just want to go back home and hug my family, my husband. I haven’t seen them for so long.”

The impersonator, who often performs as Braxton at events in the United States, traveled to Suriname in February but was booed after fans realized she was not the real Braxton.

As previously reported on Singersroom, Finn said she was not aware that the promoter of the event, who charged fans over $50 per ticket, had promised the real Toni Braxton.

Judge Robby Rodrigues said it was not clear whether Finn was aware of the intended duping of concertgoers.

The concert promoter, Angel Ventura, is expected to appear in court next month. He will likely face charges related to the scam.

The ‘real’ Toni Braxton was on tour with ‘Dancing With The Stars’ and recording her forthcoming Atlantic debut when the concert was taking place.
