Cher Speaks Out on Chastity's Sex Change

Cher is such a great mom!

The singer is speaking out in support of Chastity Bono's decision to undergo a sex change operation.

"Chaz is embarking on a difficult journey, but one that I will support," the diva said in a statement to People.com. "I respect the courage it takes to go through this transition in the glare of public scrutiny, and although I may not understand, I will strive to be understanding ... The one thing that will never change is my abiding love for my child."

Cher has never been one to care what people think, so I wouldn't expect anything less from her, but what a great parental example. Her child's happiness is the most important thing to her -- isn't that the way it should always be?
