Julianne Hough to Star in Footloose Remake

Dancing with the Stars professional Julianne Hough has reportedly been chosen to star in the Footloose remake with Gossip Girl’s Chace Crawford, according to Contact Music. The Hollywood heartthrob and the reality TV show star are taking on the roles that Kevin Bacon and Lori Singer made famous in 1984.

Apparently, Julianne is said to have “beaten off hundreds of hopefuls” for the role as Hayden Panettiere and Miley Cyrus were reportedly vying for it.

Filming for the remake is scheduled to start in Spring 2010.
