The 'Entourage' Boys Celebrate Their Season 4 Premiere

Anyway, the boys are back, though not yet in L.A., as "Entourage" breaks format in "Welcome to the Jungle," a pseudo-documentary that takes us behind the scenes of "Medellin," the Pablo Escobar film Vince (Adrian Grenier) and his best friend/manager Eric (Kevin Connolly) have long obsessed about.

Listening to Vince pitch the project a few weeks ago, I'd worried that that goosebumps moment signaled a shift in tone, maybe a demand that we take "Entourage" more seriously. Happily, the sight of Pablo's pudgy nose on Vince's face put an end to that.

Those who've always wanted to see Vince at work are like the people who couldn't wait to see Aaron Sorkin write sketch comedy for "Studio 60": they're misguided and doomed to disappointment.

Despite the business talk, "Entourage" has never been as much about how the sausage gets made as about how it tastes. And we're going to drop that metaphor right now before someone puts out an eye.

While there's plenty of genuine emotion on display in "Entourage" - I happen to think even Ari (Jeremy Piven) and Mrs. Ari (Perrey Reeves) have something deep and lasting, though maybe not so deep and lasting as what Johnny Drama (Kevin Dillon) has with himself - it's the vein of pure escapism running through the show that makes it the perfect chaser to whatever twisted thing precedes it.
