Will Cross At Institute
Famed expedition leader and explorer Will Cross visited The Friedman Diabetes Institute at Beth Israel Medical Center and spoke about his experiences as a world-class mountain climber living with type 1 diabetes. Will was the first American with diabetes to reach the summit of Mount Everest. His visit to the Friedman Diabetes Institute was a great thrill for Dr. Gabriella Grinstein's pediatric patients. The kids were excited to hear Will's riveting talk about climbing the highest mountain on each continent and trekking the North and South Poles while managing diabetes. Both patients and staff were moved to hear his inspirational story. The event was sponsored by Novo Nordisk, a healthcare company with an 86-year history of innovation and achievement in diabetes care.
