Joan Rivers Comments on Ed McMahon's Death

At the M•A•C AIDS FUND event, where Joan Rivers was presented with a $250,000 check for her charity, God's Love We Deliver, in honor of her win on last season's "Celebrity Apprentice," the comedienne talked to "The Insider" about the death of Ed McMahon.

Joan told us that Ed was a "gent," as well as a "good man and a good neighbor."

She says her favorite memory of the former "The Tonight Show" sidekick was from the time that she left "The Tonight Show" to host her own late-night show on FOX: "Carson put out an edict: 'No one is allowed to talk to her.' Ed McMahon would come over in a restaurant -- against the bosses orders -- and always said, 'hello,' and 'how are you?' He kept the relationship going. I thought that was classy."
