DETROIT (AP) — Hundreds of people have come to the original home of Motown Records in Detroit for a candlelight vigil in memory of Michael Jackson.Sharon Banks, a spokeswoman for Sunday's event, says at least 1,200 people came to the Motown Historical Museum to take part in the vigil. The historic Detroit building, dubbed Hitsville USA, was the launching pad for Jackson's career.
Banks says organizers ran out of candles to give to Jackson fans of all ages and ethnic groups.
Fans have gathered outside Hitsville every day since Jackson's death Thursday.
Hitsville includes Studio A, where Jackson recorded as a member of The Jackson 5. Motown Records founder Berry Gordy signed the brothers from Gary, Ind., 5 four decades ago.
