Dr. Conrad Murray, the Texas cardiologist who was with Michael Jackson when the singer suffered cardiac arrest at his rented L.A. mansion Thursday, was questioned by Los Angeles police late Saturday, Usmagazine.com has confirmed.
Murray voluntarily met with detectives assigned to Robbery-Homicide Division "and conducted an extensive interview," a Los Angeles police spokesperson tells Us. "Dr. Murray was cooperative and provided information which will aid the investigation."
Look back at Michael Jackson's life
An attorney accompanied Murray to the lengthy meeting, the Associated Press reports.
"Dr. Murray is considered to be a witness to the events surrounding Michael Jackson's death and he is not a suspect," Houston law firm Stradley, Chernoff & Alford said in a statement. "Dr. Murray hired legal counsel to help guide him through the police investigation process. The law firm was hired to make sure the police investigation is conducted properly."
In a statement to the Associated Press, Murray's spokeswoman Miranda Sevcik added that the doctor "helped identify the circumstances around the death of the pop icon and clarified some inconsistencies. Investigators say the doctor is in no way a suspect and remains a witness to this tragedy."
Murray has been in Los Angeles since Jackson's death and plans to stay here until his cooperation is no longer needed, the rep added.
Revisit Michael Jackson’s most unforgettable moments
Questions continue to grow about Murray's involvement in Jackson's life.
Murray -- who reportedly is licensed in California, Nevada and Texas and has an office in Houston -- had treated Jackson for three years. Two weeks ago -- around the time Murray reportedly announced he was shutting down his private practice -- Jackson requested that Murray be with him, according to reports. He was then hired by AEG Live, which was producing Jackson's upcoming London shows.
According to various media reports, Jackson was injected with the narcotic painkiller Demerol shortly before he went into cardiac arrest. Murray had performed CPR on him when paramedics arrived and accompanied the singer in an ambulance to the UCLA Medical Center, where the King of Pop was pronounced dead at 2:26 p.m. PST Thursday.

Investigative reporter Diane Dimond -- who has covered Michael Jackson for years -- said on CBS' The Early Show Saturday Edition: "If he was the only doctor on the scene and, as we heard in the 911 call, worked on Michael Jackson for quite awhile before they called 911, he may be culpable of something."
The official autopsy, conducted on Friday, failed to determine what killed Jackson. Toxicology test results, which could show the drugs present in Jackson's system, could take up to six weeks.
On Saturday, the Rev. Jesse Jackson said the Jackson family wants answers.
"They [the Jacksons] didn't know the doctor. ... He should have met with the family, given them comfort on the last hours of their son," he said at a press conference.
In a quest to find answers, a second autopsy on the performer's body was performed Saturday by a private pathologist hired by the Jackson family, according to TMZ.com and The Los Angeles Times.
Tonight, the annual BET awards show —will pay tribute to Jackson and his legacy.

4:01 AM HE NEVER RECOVERED Says:
LOS ANGELES – Michael Jackson called his trial on child molestation claims, "the hardest thing I've ever done in my life." Acquitted of all charges by a jury but convicted by public opinion, he spent the rest of his life trying to recover from the ordeal.
On many fronts, it was a losing battle. Late night comedians derided him as a pedophile. Prosecutors who lost the case against him never accepted the jury verdict and Jackson felt driven to give up his beloved Neverland Ranch and leave the country.
This month, exactly four years after the verdict, the nation's greatest pop star was on the verge of a dazzling comeback. His "This Is It" concert tour was to be his artistic rebirth, a vivid signal that he had at last recovered from the trial.
But Thomas Mesereau Jr., the lawyer who defended Jackson, said the star never fully recovered from the trial.
"The jury said, 'not guilty,' 14 times," Mesereau recalls. "You couldn't have a verdict that got any closer to full vindication."
On the acquittal day, Mesereau issued a statement: "Justice is done. The man's innocent. He always was."
Mesereau said in an interview Saturday that the effort by prosecutors and many media outlets to demonize Jackson during the 2005 trial took a physical and emotional toll on the already fragile defendant that was difficult to erase.
"These were horrible charges to accuse any one of and they were completely bogus," he said.

9:05 PM HE NEVER RECOVERED YAHOO NEWS Says:Jackson could have gotten nearly 20 years behind bars if convicted of charges that he molested a 13-year-old cancer survivor at Neverland in 2003. Jurors also acquitted Jackson of getting the boy drunk and of conspiring to imprison the accuser and his family at the ranch.
Jackson's defense team prevailed with evidence that he was the victim of mother-and-son con artists and a prosecutor with a vendetta.
Mesereau recalled Jackson visibly withering as the trial progressed, losing weight, his cheeks sunken, his skin pale. Twice he was taken to a hospital emergency room for treatment.
"The poor fellow couldn't sleep, couldn't eat. He was very worried about what would happen to his children if he was sent away. It took a horrible toll on him," said Mesereau.
The attorney said Jackson suffered at the hands of a media contingent that wished him to be convicted.
"Much of the media was having a field day trying to make him out as a monster," he said. "People were trying to build careers off a conviction."
6:56 PM Anonymous Says:he was a creepy alcoholic, major drug user and a pedophile. Passed ins. physicals? I doubt it. This will all be cleaned up, swept under the table, and make him look like a victim. It makes me sick how the celebrities "jump on the bandwagon" of praising him. He was nobody's role model. Even Obama. . shame on him! I want to know the truth, about the creepy outfits, the creepy way he dealt with his children, the creepy plastic surgery operations, I want to know who he really was. . .that will NEVER come to the surface.

1:36 I agree with you. He did not trust adults so he wanted to be in the company of children. That does not mean he molested them. Katherine Jackson made a very good point on Biography last night. She said if someone was accused of touching your child wouldn't the first thing that came to mind was that you wanted to beat the crap out of the person you suspected.
---Is that what Katherine says? So what did Katherine do when her husband raped his eldest daughter, Rebbie (his illegitimate one)when she was only 12 years old? What did Katherine do while her husband was abusing her children? Unfortunately, abuse victims are often given a double whammy, bad parents to start with, and a perp who knows that the victim has no one caring or watching out for them. The victim is isolated, which makes them a great target.

No, these people only talked about money. I wasn't there but when it comes to money the blind man sees. Yes, he was a bit odd but he was talented and I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt and fell he didn't molest anyone.
5:45 PM Anonymous Says:Why are so many people interested in protecting this pathetic loser? He was a grown man making his own decisions. The only “victim(s)” in this whole mess are his innocent kids. I am sure the kids have been brain washed since birth and won’t know how to function in a “real” world since they were sold to and raised by a WACKO!!
5:33 PM Anonymous Says:Everyone must stop saying negative things about MJ or his family. No need to talk about bad things, only remember the good. Just pray, prayer will fix everything. And since no one is permitted to judge -- the same thing will happen again and again and again. Its the people who tell you not to say anything negative that are responsible for failing to intervene when they could have. God gave you a brain to be able to judge.
5:12 PM Anonymous Says:Everyone keeps saying that Michael had such a terrible childhood, yet most people want the people who raised Michael to raise his children. Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. I bet ole Joe can't wait to put little Prince to work - to pay for his room and board.
5:10 PM Anonymous Says:The family is upset now because they didn't know the doctor - the doctor whom Michael trusted, and had treating his children. They should only blame themselves because the Nanny tried to get granny and sister Janet to help her with a drug intervention due to concern of many doctors coming over to give drugs to Michael. Why didn't they support the nanny's wish to have a drug intervention? So if they cared so much, why didn't they take the time to meet the doc themselves?
4:58 PM Faith, Hope and Love Says:Let those who are without sin cast the first stone. This is a tragic event, and should be treated as such. I will pray much for the family and the people who are not benefiting from the death of a child star, who never had the opportunity to be a child. May his soul rest in peace for now God has called his chid home. He was only given to us for a moment, God sent his angel on earth to bless us all with the gift of music, in hopes it would heal someone's soul or even mend a broken heart. May the love of God be with his family in this time of need.
4:42 PM Anonymous Says:What people don't understand is that Michael went through a childhood of mental and physical abuse. He was stripped from a normal childhood and forced to be a star at an early age. It is obvious that he has mental issues that come from his past. He was clearly a sick individual that had no help from the people who were suppose to love him. In my eyes when someone has an addiction or illness and you love and care for them, you DON'T give up on trying to help them, no matter what!!! Instead of family surrounding him through his troubled times he had greedy people who didn't care for him or his well-being and fed his addictions what ever they might have been. You can't blame someone who has an illness, but instead the people who are "suppose" to be helping them. Michael clearly had an illness people... you cant blame him entirely. What is more disturbing is no one was helping him get better. Instead they were greedy people helping him get to his grave for MONEY! Michael was and is a man with unbeleivable talent. I can't ever see him being matched or topped, he is undeniably legendary! Let's remember him for his glory days of being, Michael Jackson the "King of Pop".
R.I.P Michael, you'll always be remembered...
How We Die...Why? Why? Another one bites the dust.Drugs are killing us. Our society, economy, and culture. When is enough.....enough. We as an educated society are not smart at all. If it is not the drugs, the automobile, the foods we put in our systems, or the desperation of the times what other method kills all of our great individuals? The list is inmeasureable.
2:59 PM LASHEYDAVIS Says:PERSONALLY LIKE EVERYONE WITH A BUTT HOLE EVERYONE HAS AN OPINION, YALL GONNA HATE HIM NO MATTER WHAT FIND FAULT NO MATTER WHAT HUMAN IS HUMAN RICH OR POOR WE ALL HAVE OUR ADDICTIONS U MAY BE ADDICTED TO SHOPPING IT WILL BREAK YOU FOOD WILL MAKE YOU FAT COMPUTERS RUIN UR EYES CARPALTUNEL ECT... 2:44 PM Anonymous Says:These so called "doctors" to the Stars always do whatever their patient Wants, no matter how dangerous it may be. Think Anna Nicole Smith, Elvis.
The stars aren't use to the word "No" and so this goes on & on.
Let the man rest in peace, enough already. What gets me is that people aways have to bring up all the bad things that someone may or may not have done,if he did have a drug problem ,that was on him he;s not the only person in this world with a addition, so back off and let his family get through this without all you haters putting this man down.Just think of all the good he has done, and move on
1:36 PM JVL Says:People shouldn't judge MJ he has been in the spotlight since he was small, forced by his parents, it's no wonder he was a bit strange, but very, very, talented no one can deny that!!
RIP Michael.....
PS: He was never found guilty of all the molestation charges, and in my opinion it was just a bunch of greedy b!tches using their kids to try to make a buck off him.

Jackson's body was released to his family yesterday but no funeral arrangements were announced. The bizarre nature of his life continued into death, with German doctor Gunther von Hagens claiming: "An agreement is in place to plastinate the King of Pop."
Dr von Hagens, who is known for embalming bodies in polyurethane, said an agreement had been reached with Jackson months ago for the singer's body to be plastinated in the moonwalk position and put on show with the plastinated body of his pet chimp, Bubbles.

1:01 PM Anonymous Says:I'm glad they finally got to interview the doctor. Maybe now all the hoopla will start to cease. The doctor supposedly gave him a shot of demerol shortly before he went into cardiac arrest so maybe Michael had a bad reaction to the medication nad that's what caused his death. I'm not saying Michael didn't have a drug problem; I have no idea whether he did or not but the best thing to do is for the media to stop plastering his name all over and let his family grieve for him in peace! Why not wait until the toxicology reports come back before pointing a finger at someone?
12:53 PM Anonymous Says:From the New York Post; Michael Jackson's eldest son thought his father was joking around when he collapsed on the living-room floor — but soon stood "in a trance" as the King of Pop's personal doctor frantically tried to revive him, a family confidant told the New York Post.
"The horror of it all is that Prince thought his dad was just being his dad and clowning, but it was real, and he watched as they worked on him," said Stacy Brown, a Jackson family biographer who has spoken extensively to the Jackson's relatives since he died Thursday.
"Prince was stunned — in a trance — just watching," Brown said. "There was no movement, just looking around and not really processing what was really happening."
Brown said he was told that when Jackson went into cardiac arrest, he was in the living room of the $100,000-per-month Los Angeles rental with the 12-year-old boy — whose full name is "Prince" Michael Joseph Jackson Jr.
Also there were the pop star's personal physician, Dr. Conrad Murray, his longtime friend and one-time manager, Frank DiLeo, and a security guard named Tippy.
12:46 PM Anonymous Says:He's dead. Lets all move on!
What are Jon and Kate doing? LOL!
12:27 PM Anonymous Says:MJ was an addict, who found Dr.'s who would gladly feed his addictions. He found Dr.'s that wanted money and glory, not help heal the sick. There is no doubt MJ was sick...but it was not pain meds he needed. A shrink and maybe some Prozac would have done more. AND, this lawyer, the nanny all are saying they went to his family with warnings of his addictions. NOW, either the family didn't take it seriously OR they were just waiting for this to happen. Granny makes sure to ask the nanny where MJ hid his money in the house... Gee, wonder what her priorities were? MJ did not seem close to his family, we never really saw or heard of family get togethers.... MJ was one hot mess and EVERYONE IN HIS 'CIRCLE' was an inabler...EVERY ONE OF THEM had a hand in his death. And,. by all means, MJ got what he deserved. Almost every addict hits that wall, where they are spinning out of control. SOME see it and realize death is coming and they try to get help. Then, there are the MJ addicts...they are going out of control, yet think that they are in control and that the inablers around them are of some help...if needed. The addicts that save themselves, kodos to them. Then MJ addicts...sorry, but...I feel little...if any..pitty for them. MJ was a hot mess and he ended up getting what he deserved. He was a talented musician, but as soon as he was off the stage, he was odd, weird, scary and out of control. And, no one helped...he ended up dead because he was an idiot addict who bought idiot inablers to be around him
12:12 PM Brandon Says:This guy is a criminal---he let michael have whatever drugs he wanted
and he got paid for it. he KNEW he had a drug problem and he enabled him
to continue on his self destrucive path. He sold his soul.
"Michael killed Michael"
I think if a doctor shoots someone up with a drug and then that person
dies---it might be worth looking into. It's not like they found him
with empty bottles around him. THe DOCTOR injected him. So technically
HE didn't overdose. You are very insensitive and self righteous.
He was a Role Model to Who? I always walk the Path,of Torah Scholars.
11:26 AM Anonymous Says:Why weren't the family wanting answers when the nanny was requesting their help with a drug intervention in December when she got fired? The nanny couldn't do it by herself.
