An official speaking outside of Jackson's rented home says that they seized the medications because of "information that was obtained by the Los Angeles Police Department, along with some questions that we had involving some of the medications." The official would not disclose the quantity of the medications.
The official said that he and an investigator from the Coroner's office and an LAPD detective collected "some additional items as a result of our investigation and those items have been taken into custody as evidence and we'll be returning to our office to analyze some of the stuff."
The official also noted, "The family has been extremely cooperative and we ask that you continue to respect their privacy."
