Although it has yet to be filed with the court, it is believed a will written in 2002 is in the hands of a lawyer for the late superstar. The will allegedly divides his estate between his mother, three children and one or more charities.
According to the WSJ, Michael died about $500 million in debt. They point out, however, that given his assets it is likely his total estate outweighs the debt by around $200 million.
Meanwhile, Neverland Valley Ranch could hang in the balance. Due to defaulting on a $24.5 million loan, another entity owns the property.
Since his death this past Thursday, at least two other wills have emerged, according to the WSJ reports. In her court filing Monday for temporary custody of the children, Michael's mother Katherine said she has not seen a will.
As we reported, Katherine was appointed the temporary special administrator of her son's estate yesterday.
