Farrah Fawcett being laid to rest at LA funeral

The Associated Press
LOS ANGELES (AP) — The life of "Charlie's Angels" star Farrah Fawcett is to be celebrated during a private funeral held, fittingly, at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels.

Fawcett died Thursday at age 62 after a long and public battle with cancer. The service late Tuesday afternoon is closed to media and the public.

Her longtime companion, Ryan O'Neal, said in a statement last week that Fawcett's family and friends "take comfort in the beautiful times that we shared with Farrah" and knowing that her life brought joy to people.

Her son, 24-year-old Redmond, was granted a request last week to attend the funeral. He has been jailed since April 5 on drug charges.
