Harrison Ford set to play Indiana Jones again

Indiana Jones star Harrison Ford is set to reprise his role as the legendary explorer - despite being almost 70.

Harrison, who turns 67 later on this month, will play the role of Indy in the fifth film in the series and it is claimed it will be his last performance as the adventurer.

It is claimed filming will not start until next year, and it will not be released before 2011, when the star will be 69.

A source said: “Harrison has kept himself in good shape and could still do a lot of the stunts in the last film.”

The source added: “But it’s obviously not going to get any easier the older he gets. He certainly would never have imagined playing Indiana Jones when he was nearing 70!”

  • I talked to DH at a special film festival screening of 'Temple of Doom' in Borehamwood, London, on Friday 3rd July.

...and 'Doom' is the best Indy film ever! No question!!

Roll on Somerset House Film4 'Raiders' I say, and so say all of us!

  • Indy 5 is warranted. Harrison, man, I think that you are the greatest. I saw all the Indy films....soooooooooo many times.

The interrogation scene shows you obviously still have the stamina. I don't check guys out, in that sense, but judging by the
biceps and forearms I wouldn't dare challenge you to an arm wrestle.

    ...And I'm 35!

Don that fedora. Crack that whip. You are legendary. The true adventurer and the all action hero.

You still cut it pops! You are of the old school, and that's no insult.
You have the factor that's missing from all the new kids on the block.

...oh and try and bring Willie, Shorty and Sallah back huh?

...and a bit less CGI. Derek Howarth awaits, trust me, I know.

  • This will truly be the "Last Crusade". I welcome a new movie, I love these movies. Speilberg & Lucas owe it to the fans to give us that 5th and final movie they signed up for back in the early eighties. Bring it on!
  • I can't to see Indiana Jones again in a fifth movie.
    Bring it on!

  • would love to see #5, if the sources are true.
my ' look forward ' sequels are still for
Lucas to continue where Star Wars #6 left off...(naturally, Ford & the others would guest star in #7, with new actors picking up the storyline

  • Fantastic news!!! A fifth Indy film would complete the series and let it finish on a high. Harrison Ford can still do it. Anyway, who else is going to make a better adventure film?

  • I don't really trust their source, which is a guy's blog, but Lucas said he's doing research, Frank Marshall said Lucas is doing research and the movie "Indiana Jones 5" is on IMDB Pro. IMDB is not official but the "Pro" is a good sign.

  • Kingdom wasn't THAT bad, yet I think Lucas, Spielberg and Ford will want to make sure the Indiana Jones series goes out with a bang. I'm guessing they'll make it one of the best "stories" we've seen and filled with a lot of sentiment.
