Simply Red's Mick a Dad at 47

The SIMPLY RED singer was “over the moon” after girlfriend Gabriella Wesberry gave birth to his first child, daughter ROMY TRUE.

The tot was delivered at London maternity hospital, The Portland, on Monday. And on hearing the news, pals and bandmates gathered in a nearby pub to wet the baby’s head.

A friend of Mick’s said last night: “He’s wanted a baby for years but has never found the right time.”

Mick — who has dated some of the world’s most glamorous women — is now set to marry gorgeous Gabriella.

The couple began dating in 1995 but split over his roving eye and non-stop touring.

They reunited four years ago after Gabriella, who is in her 30s and speaks six languages, split from her husband.

Mick has described her as his “soul mate” — adding: “It’s wonderful to have someone who’s your lover and best friend.”
