Danielle thinks the fascination with celebrity mothers and their children comes from the fact that it is simply something that we have in common, with them. Probably the only thing.
Why the fascination? Friedland thinks it stems from the humanizing of celebrities. Non-celebrity women have pretty much nothing in common with celebrity women except for pregnancy and motherhood. It truly puts us all on the same level.
We constantly hear women (and even our readers) say; "how do they lose the weight so quickly and look so fabulous?" Danielle provides us with an answer;
The immediate weight loss is completely unrealistic (and unhealthy) for normal women. Celebrity moms have access to the best and complete care for themselves and their babies so they can get back to work. They have nannies, fitness trainers, nutritionists, cooks, assistants, etc. A normal mom can't compete with that. I think most women are smart enough to realize this, though.
And Danielle's favorite celebrity? Someone who is realistic!
Friedland loves actress Jennifer Garner because of her normality. "She does have a nanny but you also see her out with (daughter) Violet, [18 months] doing mundane things. She also dresses like a regular mom - she wears jeans, sweatshirts, and her diaper bag is a very unglamorous athletic backpack!"
