Happy 4th of July everyone! When I think of the 4th the things that come to mind are family get togethers, barbeques, and of course fireworks and lots of them. Now there seems to be a new tradition for the 4th, Nathan’s hot dog eating contest, and it’s become so popular it’s televised.

This year’s winner for the third straight year is Joey (Jaws) Chestnut, he chowed down an amazing 68 hot dogs in just 10 minutes.

“I’ve been practicing hard,” Chestnut said after the dog-off. “I knew it would be hard to beat me.”

Chestnut maintained a comfortable lead over his arch rival Takeru Kobayashi, who is a six time champion, for most the competition. Our congrats goes out to Chestnut, who broke the world record on this 4th of July.
