So What Happened At Michael Jackson's Memorial ?

They came not to lay Michael Jackson to rest but to celebrate his life, with the rest of the world. Fans dressed in everything from sober business suits to sequin-studded T-shirts sobbed, shouted out expressions of love and occasionally jumped up to dance, but mostly sat for two hours in a state of hushed awe.

I have never heard anything like this before- 16,000 people in one stadium-silent to say their final goodbye to the king of pop. My King, My Hero, Only One Legend- Michael Jackson. I'm leaving you with a few quotes who spoke at Michael Jackson's memorial and a peek-coverage by ES musica video:

"Both of us needed to be adults very early, but when we were together, we were two little kids having fun ... MJ's laugh was the sweetest and purest of anyone I've known," actress Brooke Shields.

"Michael was the biggest star on earth," singer and actress Queen Latifah.

"With the abrupt absence of our treasure, though we are many, each of us is achingly alone, piercingly alone," words written by poet Maya Angelou and read at Jackson's memorial at the Staples Centre.

"Michael Jackson went into orbit and never came down," Berry Gordy, founder of Motown records who launched the careers of The Jackson 5.

"Michael, we'll see you in heaven!" one audience member shouted out. Others responded with whoops and shouts of "yeah" and "all right". Everything about this ceremony was, for Jackson fans, tinged with magic and instant nostalgia.
