"In the early 1990s, I tried to call attention to some of these issues to the appropriate authorities and took a lot of heat from it, some of which has persisted to this day," says L.A. surgeon Dr. Wallace Goodstein, who belonged to a practice that one of Jackson's surgeons was also in.
"In my mind, excessive and frequent plastic surgical procedures and inappropriate prescribing of prescription medication began a long and inevitable road to Michael's destruction. I will always question whether this outcome could have been avoided."

May Allah Be With You Always Michael.
Do you have no understanding of the affect his life (the good and the bad) had on his mental state? He may have needed counseling to learn to cope, and he may have believed that he was invincible and didn't need help so that he could continue to be the personality that entertained the world. Do you realize what a burden that is and how it could make a person believe what he wants to believe about his life? Is it possible the people in his inner circle could not or would not stand up to him to keep him grounded? For all of his philanthropic efforts, he could not be saved from a sad existence. Many complicated factors affect the lives of celebrities as well as people in positions of power. Even when their lives are going well, the responsibility they bear for themselves and others can be overwhelming, I think. From what I have heard lately about his younger years, he had issues with his father. Maybe he also had issues with other family members and felt anger that he could not express because of his upbringing. It appears his medical advisors were useless and were controlled by him. He may have coped the best way he could by becoming eccentric. As he said, he didn't want to grow up.
As with most situations under public scrutiny, we will never really know all the details and what happened behind the scenes. He wanted to sleep. . .and, once again, got what he wanted.
