"The Insider" has learned that talk-show host and television chef Rachael Ray has undergone a surgical procedure.

Ray underwent surgery last week to remove a cyst from her vocal cord. A rep for the star tells "The Insider":

"After several months of vocal therapy and on the advice of her doctors, Rachael decided to have a benign cyst removed from her vocal cord, last week."

Ray's rep goes on to say: "According to Rachael's doctors, the minor, non-invasive procedure was a success and she is already resting at home. The hardest part for Rachael is going to be giving her voice a rest for the next week or so."

The bubbly star's daytime talk show, "Rachael Ray," airs weekdays.

  • I am glad that she had the cyst removed from her vocal cord. It is better to attack the problem then to have her worry what it could be. I hope that her mind is at easy that it was benign and that she has this off her mind.

She need to rest her voice and I am sure her fans do not mind watching a rerun so she can get better.
Sorry I can not send dinner to her for her recoery- she is like my neiighbor next door since i see her everyday.
Please send me an address when I can at least send her a card ad candy. Love From Chicago Anna Marie Sloan at sloan221 @comcast.net

  • Is it possible that if Rachael Ray use LEMON on a daily ( cut the lemon up use the juice only, chew it up swollow it) bases to strip the flem from her throat, her voice will regain its volumn. Try it, it may work! Helen Watson Camp

  • Hm, I suppose that would explain why she always had such an annoying voice. Now if only they could perform a surgical procedure to make her cooking actually taste good.
