It's another case of life imitating art. Actress Anne Heche has split with her husband of five years, allegedly to be with her "Men in Trees" co-star, James Tupper.
Heche's rep said in a statement that she and husband, Coley Laffoon "have decided to separate after five years of marriage. They have requested that they be allowed their privacy at this time." Anne and Coley have a 4-year-old son together named Homer. James's rep, meanwhile, confirmed that the actor and his wife split in November.
Entertainment Tonight was the first outlet to report the alleged affair between Anne and James. Us Weekly supported the idea by dragging up an old interview that James did with BlogCritics. The site asked Tupper what it was like to work with Heche. He answered, "I'm a big fan. She has an energy that makes people feel included in things. It's like being under a light when you're around her." Then when asked who his favorite TV couple with sexual tension was, he said, "Can I pick Anne and me?"
Though James and Anne have not confirmed their romance, a relationship between them would seem to answer a blind item posted by TV Guide's Michael Ausiello last Friday. The post read:
You're gonna love this: A couple you love on a show you love are in love. But wait, there's more — so much more. These series leads are married to other people, spouses my moles tell me they are thisclose to leaving for each other. And really, how could they not dump the folks they pledged to love, honor and cherish? They've been overheard spouting clichés like, "We've been waiting our whole lives for this!" (Gag me.) While this would be the first offense for one of the saccharine sweethearts, the other is no stranger to bad press. At this point, a homewrecking extramarital affair would only confirm the worst that a significant portion of the public already thinks of this individual. So, guesses? Don't be shy — these two certainly aren't!
