Brüno Becomes Box Office Trend

Sacha Baron Cohen's latest character comedy 'Bruno' landed the No. 1 spot at the weekend box office, bringing in $30.4 million, studio estimates show.

The film beat out Baron Cohen's first comedy in 2006 'Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan' which made 26.5 million in its first opening weekend.

'Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs' and 'Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen' fall behind 'Bruno' making $25.5 million and $24.2 million.

Hayden Panettiere's new movie 'I Love You Beth Cooper' took the No. 7 spot at the weekend box office bring in $5 million.
