Ryan Reynolds to Play Super Hero in New Film!

With his romantic comedy 'The Proposal' currently in theaters, and a new indie project in the works, Ryan Reynolds has just landed another exciting movie role -- read on for more details.

Reynolds has been chosen to play the title role in 'Green Lantern,' the live-action film based on the DC Comics character, Variety reports.

The 32-year-old star was in the running for the coveted role along with Bradley Cooper and Jared Leto, the trade paper says.

Production is expected to begin in January.

  • I enjoy Ryan's wisecracks, absolutely LOVED him in Blade Trinity, but I also liked his buff action hero side to. I didn't really care for Deadpool, but I think it was the character more than him. You couldn't see his face, and he couldn't speak....

  • I'm sorry that just doesn't work for me. Despite how thrilled I am for the Deadpool movie, I see either Nathan Fillion, Brian Austin Green or even Matt Damon a much better for the part.

  • I have to agree that he'd make a better Flash as well but he does look like Hal Jordan so it does work. I just hope they don't humor up GL too badly seeing as how he's a rather tragic character all things considered.
