Elizabeth Taylor 'Devastated' by Jackson's Death

"The Insider" has learned that Dame Elizabeth Taylor's recent hospital visit was not related to the tragic news of her friend Michael Jackson's passing.

 

A rep for Taylor tells "The Insider" that a New York Post column published on Tuesday that claimed the star was hospitalized after a meltdown over Jackson's death is false.

"She is in for standard tests and a minor 'though painful' surgical procedure," her rep said. "That’s it. No drama, no shrieking, no sedation required. Nobody on her staff is worried. Period."

Taylor's rep also released a statement from the star that read: "I twittered in anticipation of what some of the cheaper rags would say about my going into the hospital at this time. I am fine and will be home soon."
