Tina Fey, Christina Applegate Score Emmy Nods

Christina Applegate and Tina Fey were both nominated for best actress in a comedy series Emmys, it was announced this morning.

Applegate's Samantha Who? was recently canceled. Fey's 30 Rock has been a critical darling, wining her three Emmys last year. It earned record ratings after recent guest appearances by Oprah Winfrey and Jennifer Aniston.

Also competing in the category: Toni Collette (The United States of Tara), Mary-Louise Parker (Weeds), Julia Louis-Dreyfus (The New Adventures of Old Christine) and Sarah Silverman (The Sarah Silverman Program).

Family Guy was nominated as best comedy series -- making it the first animated show to score a nod in the category since The Flintstones in 1961.
