A second person has died after an accident that occurred on Thursday during construction of the stage for Madonna's show in France.

A French worker was killed Thursday after the roof fell apart at Velodrome Stadium in Marseilles, France and landed on several workers. The hospital authority tells the Associated Press that a second worker passed away Friday from injuries suffered during the accident.

Eight other workers were injured but none of the victims' identities have been released, the AP says.

Madonna was scheduled to perform Sunday in France on her "Sticky & Sweet" tour but canceled her performance after the accident.
