The semi-official newspaper of the Holy See has criticized the previous "Harry Potter" films for allegedly endorsing witchcraft. It even called Harry a wrong model of a hero.
But on the latest issue of the paper, the film, based on the sixth novel of the series written by J.K. Rowling, was given an absolution of sorts. According to the review, the film drew a clear line between good and evil.
It sided with the titular boy wizard in his battle with the enemy, saying it promoted values of friendship, self-sacrifice and loyalty.
