CBS censors 'Big Brother' slurs

The Associated Press
LOS ANGELES (AP) — It was the most memorable speech in "Big Brother" history, but fans didn't hear all of it.

Television viewers watching the live "Big Brother 11" eviction episode Thursday only heard part of contestant Chima (CHEE'-ma) Simone's petition to stay on the voyeuristic CBS reality show. Host Julie Chen later called it "the most memorable last plea speech we've ever heard."

The audio cut out as Simone referenced a racial slur that fellow nominee Braden Bacha (BACH'-ah) used against two other contestants. Also censored was Simone announcing that Bacha had used a sexually insulting word to describe Chen, who also co-hosts "The Early Show" and is expecting a child with her husband, CBS boss Les Moonves.
