Avril Lavigne Sued for Stealing Song

Canadian singer/songwriter Avril Lavigne is being sued by U.S. songwriters who claim that her smash hit "Girlfriend'' sounds suspiciously like a single they released in the 1970s.

Apparently the song has a striking similarity to the Rubinoos song "I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend.'

  • This song has been out for a while. What took them so long to realize that the song has as a 'striking similarity' to another song? Whatever. I agree. Doubt this is true.
