A pair of U.S. songwriters allege her contagious single sounds suspiciously like a song called "I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend," released by the Rubinoos in 1979.Lavigne's manager, Terry McBride, scoffed at the charges, calling the suit "baseless" and little more than a "case of legal blackmail."
Mr. McBride should keep in mind that she's becoming known for stealing. This Chantal lady didn't stoop to sue her ass, but these guys from the 70's are working the night shift at Wal-Mart and need the paper. Never underestimate what the night shift at Wal-Mart can do to your soul.
