Ferrell, 42, played the role of sexist news anchor Ron Burgundy in the 2004 smash-hit flick.
He said: “We’re going to talk to all the guys next week - Steve Carell, Paul Rudd and everybody else - to see if it’s feasible to do it, because everybody’s at different places right now, with totally different schedules.
“Hopefully, we can start filming in a couple of years.”
Will is said to be considering setting the movie in the 80s, which would be a decade later than the first movie.
