A man is in police custody after allegedly attempting to sell his young child in the Kensington section of Philadelphia Friday morning.
Chopper 3 HD was over the 2000 block of Elkhart Street as Philadelphia Police rescued a baby girl allegedly sold for drugs.
Sources tell CBS 3 the baby’s father, who was just released from jail, told caretakers he intended to sell the 6-month-old child for drug money.
Highway Patrol officers located the father after just after 9:30 a.m. and upon questioning, determined the location of the child.
The baby was found safely and taken to an area hospital to be evaluated. The father remains in police custody.
