Lady Gaga, Beyonce and Britney Spears Earn Most VMA Noms

With Beyonce, Lady Gaga and Britney Spears leading the way in nominations, it will be ladies night come September 13 when the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards airs on MTV. Read on to see who else has been honored!

Both Beyonce and Lady Gaga earned a whopping nine nods while last year's big winner Britney Spears does it again, nabbing seven nominations for "Womanizer" and "Circus."

But don't count out the men. Beyonce's hubby Jay-Z, Eminem, Kanye West and Ne-Yo are all nominated for Best Male Video while Coldplay, Green Day, Paramore, Fall Out Boy and Kings of Leon (earning their first-ever nod) are up for Best Rock Video.

And it will be a battle of the sexes for Video of the Year. Beyoncé, "Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)", Eminem's "We Made You," Britney Spears' "Womanizer," Lady Gaga's "Poker Face" and Kanye West's "Love Lockdown" are all in the running for the night's most coveted moonman trophy.

British comedian Russell Brand will host the show live on Sunday, September 13 on MTV.
