At a press conference for the new The CW series, "The Beautiful Life," series exec producer Ashton Kutcher gave an update on Mischa Barton's status with the show, while making it clear that there had been no casting changes.
He said, "Mischa Barton is in New York working today on the show. The great thing about Mischa for this show is we have a lot of young cast. This is one of the first shows they are steering. The wonderful thing about having her in the cast is she has done it before. She was in 'The O.C.' Her navigation and guidance is essential for us as a unit."
"The Insider" had earlier reported that Barton had been hospitalized per the recommendation of her doctor.
"The Beautiful Life" is scheduled to premiere on September 16 on The CW.
