The star -- who flew to Japan over the weekend to begin filming her new VH1 series, The Price of Beauty -- was shaken by the impact of a magnitude 6.6 earthquake.

"Thought I was hallucinating," she posted on Twitter Monday. "I have never felt anything like this in my life. Laying in bed watching CNN."

The earthquake struck Japan's Tsuruga Bay, which is southwest of Tokyo, at 5:07 a.m. local time on Tuesday, the nation's weather agency said. No serious damage or casualties were immediately reported though a tsunami warning was issued.

Simpson wasn't the only star to be physically affected by the earthquake. Beyonce and Solange Knowles are currently in Tokyo to promote the Samantha Thavasa & Disney Collection bags.

"My sister said she was scared out of her mind and calling my mom and I was snoring," Solange posted on Twitter.

Simpson's friend and former personal assistant, CaCee Cobb, was just as surprised by the natural disaster.

"In Tokyo and just had a 6.6 earthquake!" she Tweeted. "And a 7.6 earthquake in the Indian Ocean! I woke up thinking I was in a fish tank!"

Simpson had just begun production on the reality show, which will follow her as she visits several countries across the globe in search for true beauty. Before splitting from ex-boyfriend Tony Romo, she had planned to "shoot most of it around Tony's football schedule so she could support him through the season," a show staffer told Usmagazine.com in July.

"Now, they're busy redoing the whole shooting schedule," the source added.
