Question: Hi Anya. Can I wear cheetah belts with my zebra dress?
Answer: Good question, but the answer is no. Mixing different members of the jungle is a fashion no-no. The key to wearing animal prints is to do it in small doses. Pick one animal print, whether cheetah, zebra, or giraffe, and feature that as your one statement piece in a belt, shoe, or purse. Thanks for watching!
Q: I love the outfits you show at the end of the show, "get this look for less." However, I am no longer a size 4, I am actually now a size 14. I don’t think that a lot of those would suit me, do you have any suggestions for me? I want to look elegant but most outfits that I have tried look like I have been in a train wreck. I need some fashion advice to get me through until I can lose the weight. Thanks Anya.
A: Don’t be too hard on yourself. I’m sure you look great! Remember, if you feel good in your clothes, you will automatically look good. Try a pair of black boot-cut stretch pants with a long top or blouse over it, and black peep toed heels or wedges. Heels can make you feel and look thinner instantly. Use your accessories to instantly look thinner. Layer long necklaces for a slimming look. Thanks for watching!
Q: The belt that Lara was wearing with the fuchsia skirt on Tuesday night's show, can you please tell me where it is from?
A: Thanks for watching! I found the navy belt at Forever 21 for $4.50 (www.forever21.com).
Q: Is this where you leave questions for the 'Ask Anya' feature? I was wondering, do nude-colored shoes look good with pants and a long-sleeve shirt, or do they look better if you have skin showing?
A: Nude colored shoes are a style trick to instantly make your legs look longer if you are wearing a skirt or dress. They are also great if you do not want to draw attention to your shoes, so wear them with pants for a subtle look. Thanks for watching!
Q: Hello Anya, I am a 47-year-old Caucasian female. I am 5' 4" and weigh 210 lbs. I am an apple figure. Please help me to choose styles that would look business/chic, and casual styles. Thank you and look forward to your response. Lorraine.
A: For an apple shape, your best bet is to stick to dark, solid colors on the top and a slimmer pant on the bottom. Don’t wear a belt, because it will draw attention to your mid-section, but adding a charcoal or navy vest over a button down is a great way to stay on trend and stay in style. For a casual look, try a dark crisp jean with longer layered shirts or a tunic top. You will look and feel great in your new style! Thanks for watching!
