Will Brad Pitt Run for Mayor of New Orleans?

Brad Pitt reacts to a grassroots movement in Louisiana to make him the mayor of New Orleans, his family's current hometown.

The "Today" host Ann Curry asked the A-list actor to answer the question, "Would he run for mayor of New Orleans?" Pitt responded jokingly, "“Yeah. I’m running on the gay marriage, no religion, legalization and taxation of marijuana platform.”

“I don’t have a chance,” he said of running for political office. "That’s not what I do best."

Pitt's foundation Make It Right are building environmentally friendly housing in New Orleans’ Lower 9th Ward, a poverty-stricken neighborhood that was nearly demolished by Hurricane Katrina.

The actor told Curry of keeping his family in New Orleans, “I want to see this through. ... It means something to me. So it’s not a big act. I get antsy when I can’t get down here.”
