Robin Williams tells "The Insider" about his character in the film, and how he can relate in his own life as a father of three.
"I think they can expect kind of a dark comedy, about a man really trying to relate to his son, and then also have a writing career," he says. "As a father, I'm not the world's great dad but I'm a work in progress. My kids are extraordinary. Did they go through rough times? Yeah, but you come out the other side and I go 'God, they're so amazing.' I'm so blessed, I'm so grateful for them."
The 58-year-old actor underwent heart surgery in March, and the star gives "The Insider" a health update.
"The heart's working really well now, the new valve is kicking in," he says. "I'm feeling like it's almost up to speed, which is great."
In 'World's Greatest Dad,' Robins stars as Lance Clayton, a man who in the wake of a family tragedy discovers sometimes the things you want most in life may not be the things that make you happy, and that being lonely is not necessarily the same as being alone.
