A spokesperson for the Thames Valley Police tells us that around 1 a.m. on August 14, officers reported a collision between a Land Rover and another vehicle. Authorities arrested the driver of the Land Rover, a 46-year-old man, and took him into police custody. He was later released without charge at 5:55 a.m.
The police spokesperson tells us there were minor injuries and no one went to the hospital.
The Associated Press says Michael released a statement on Saturday saying he'd been "stone cold sober" and didn't want those close to him to be "worried by what they are reading."
In 2007, Michael pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of drugs and consequently wasn't allowed to drive for two years, says the BBC.
