People magazine posted on its Web site Tuesday that Robin filed for divorce on August 12 in Marin County, Calif. People reports that, according to the papers, the couple plans to share custody of their son, Hopper, 16, (their daughter Dylan is 18) and that they’ve already decided on how to divide their property. Also according to court papers, Robin is not asking for spousal support.
"I hit that crossroad a while ago," Robin recently told More magazine, referring to her relationship with husband Sean. "The 'I know what I don't want' was flashing in neon lights. … I have no regrets. I, we, have two amazing children we raised together."
The couple has teetered on the brink of separation for almost two years.
In December of 2007, both Sean and Robin filed for divorce separately, both citing irreconcilable differences for the split. Sean filed for divorce on Dec. 7 of that year, but the case was dismissed by both parties on Dec. 18. Robin then filed for divorce three days later on Dec. 21. In April 2008, the divorce papers were dismissed at the couple's request.
Then, in April 2009, Sean filed legal separation papers, later withdrawing them in May 2009.
Sean, 49, and Robin, 43, began dating in the early '90s, marrying in 1996.
